381 Days: The Montgomery Bus Boycott Story
Opens September 5 thru January 3, 2010


This exhibition offers a gripping account of the men and women whose non-violent approach to political and social change matured into a weapon of equality for all.

381 Days: The Montgomery Bus Boycott Story was developed and organized by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service in collaboration with the Troy University Rosa Parks Library and Museum. This exhibition has been made possible through the generous support of AARP.

Story Hour: Delivering Justice, W.W. Law and the Fight for Civil Rights by Jim Haskins

Children will listen to a story about civil rights activist Westley Wallace Law who led the Great Savannah Boycott to end racial discrimination in the south, then learn freedom songs and create protest posters.

Song Yet Sung by James McBride

Song Yet Sung, a novel by James McBride, is the Maryland Humanities Council selection for One Maryland One Book 2009. Set on Maryland’s Eastern Shore in the 1850s, the novel weavesa gripping tale of escaped slaves, free blacks, and slave catchers.
